local local1We value the partnerships we have developed within our local reach with ministries that share our vision. Our current partnerships are listed below, partnership efforts include but are not limited to prayer, financial, as well as volunteer support when needed.
Copper Basin Crisis Center
The center, managed by Al and Margaret Patterson, serves between 800 and a 1000 people per month. They come for food, clothes, hygiene items including diapers, cleaning supplies and furniture. Some ask for money to help them meet expenses and they all get prayer. We also participate each year with their effort to provide Christmas presents to the children of the families that are served through the center. Our StoreHouse ministry also works hand in hand with the crisis center in helping to meet the needs of their clients.
Good Samaritan’s of Fannin County
Good Samaritans of Fannin County is an all volunteer agency comprised of local interdenominational churches working together to support the needs of our friends and neighbors. With funds raised primarily through the annual Labor day Bar-B-Q, as well as contributions from local churches, they are able to provide emergency help with food, utilities, and rent. They also sponsor a fifth Sunday brunch open to all.
Fannin Christian Learning Center
The Fannin Christian Learning Center is a “released time” program. Students are released from Fannin County High School during the school day to go to the FCLC (adjacent but separate from school property) for Biblical instruction (free of charge). Once the class period is finished, the students return to the public school. The FCLC courses are electives in the students’ course schedules, and they attend the same period every day for an entire semester. Students may take as many FCLC courses as their academic schedules allow. After the course is satisfactorily completed, the credit is transferred to the high school.
FCLC gives students a spiritual foundation to better prepare them to handle the issues they face now and will face in the future. Courses such as an “Overview of the Bible,” “Life Principles,” “Cultivating Christian Character,” “David (Man Seeking God’s Heart) and Jesus (God Seeking Man’s Heart),” “The God Experience,” “God’s Guidebook,” “The Christ Life,” “The Teachings of Paul,” “You Have Purpose” and “A Heart after God” are among the courses developed thus far. Practical application of God’s word is their focus in every class.
Women’s Enrichment Center of Blue Ridge
The Women’s Enrichment Center does pregnancy testing, ultra-sounds, and volunteer counseling. The center offers childbirth classes, parenting classes, sewing classes, art classes, and life-skills classes. The staff provides post-abortion support, abstinence education, character education, and Pro-Life presentations. Baby food, formula, maternity clothes, and baby items of all kinds are available.
Crossover Benevolence Ministry
Matthew 25:37-40 says “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
With a heart to be pleasing to God we seek to help those who who have emergency needs. We are greatly blessed with the provision God provides to us and we seek to be a blessing to others within our community. If you ever find yourself in need, or know someone who is in need, please have them contact our office to set up an appointment.
